Anyone have any cool methods to this? I always shove it back in then feel the need to pull it back out to tighten the screws. Kinda stupid thread but oh well :thumbup:

I keep the white and bare on the one side and the hot on the other side and try and make bends in the wires so as I push the device in, they will curve as I want and go where I want.

I also backstab so I don't have to be scared of the screws not being tight enough. :whistling2:

Anything bigger that #14 I do the same, especially with GFCIs and dryer receps. I get it all set in place and the wires folded just right then sneak it back out just enough to re-check the screws, that stiff wire can loosen itself up when you are twisting and turning the device.

K just figured id ask ha. You know what really grinds my gears? Youre putting a gfci back in the box and a winged wire nut gets in the way

I ground all the sharp edges off a pair of long nose pliars and made it so they could barely close on #14.

Now I can't damage the wire stuffing a tight box.

Rip it apart and install a double-deep 4X4 box.

i pull the device all the way out so the wires are nice and straight. then i fold them and just push back. sometimes you have to angle the device.

works for me.
