Is there a code determining the depth of an electrical dimension? Could you reduce the depth of a box in order to make it lower profile when being mounted on the exterior of a building?

A little more info would be helpful.

In "general", a box must have a certain amount of cu. in available...there are other factors as well though that must be considered when dealing with large conductors ~ bending radii; as well as when dealing with larger conduits.

If you're "reducing the depth of a box" that sounds like you're cutting the back off of it, and that would not be code compliant.
