Hey, wondering if anyone out there has provided power for a range hood with chimney? I figure it would be 120 volts but not sure where to bring the wire out of wall and if a JB is required?
Any info would be appreciated!
Thanks

If I understand you you have a hanging fan with a shroud around the duct. Generally I come out at the ceiling in the middle or just above the hood in the middle.

I usually go off to the side, maybe 2" from the center with the receptacle box. This way the plug avoids the round duct inside of the square chimney. Often the fan has a right angle plug on it, if not you may want to install a clock receptacle.

I've done one of those.

Being wise I asked the home-owner to supply the unit during the rough-in stage. I was 'bang on' with my power location when the time came to have the unit installed.
