What are the High School requirements to join the IBEW in Ontario.
I am good on the math and English side of things. But if you look here -----> http://www.electricalapprenticeship.ca/apply/apply_popup.html

Grade 11 or 12 physics is required.

My local IBEW requires an applied science but Physics is recommended.

I do have a Grade 11 University chemistry course but that is it. I am considering getting the physics course through the school board so I have it. But is it really required. I have pre app training as well. Would they look past it?

Thanks.

Local 353 gets like 1000 guys applying. They will always take a guy who has it over one who doesn't, when there are only about 120 spots open. In other words, consider it required. I would imagine your local thinks along similar lines, and anyway, you are going to have a tough time in trade school if you don't have a basic understanding of physics so aside from whether it's "required" or not I would suggest you take physics as a night school course or whatever, just for your own benefit.
