I work in the home services industry and have a question: Can an apprentice run a service call and do an install without a journeyman on site?

It may not be legal, but it happens all the time.
it’s akin to running a red light. It’s illegal under any circumstances. Whether or not you get caught depends on whether or not there is a camera or cop at the intersection. Whether or not it’s advisable depends on the circumstances and how lucky you feel.

Years back my cousin with 6 months training in the field was given a beeper and was on call for the weekends and nights. Little to no experience but was a billable body. In my state I could send out my grandmother on service calls even though she past away 24 years ago. This is NY where dead people can even vote.
