I have a used Megger MIT 420 and I start at 50v and work up from there.

Testing a motor/wiring from the Mcc and its holding 1000v then it drops and recovers a few times. 2nd shift guys comes into the mcc holding his arm cursing that there something wrong with the breaker as he was dropping the leads from the disconnect when it lit his arse up.
Me - "what are you working on?"
2nd shift - "just got here and operator said he a problem with a pump"
Me - "oh they didn't tell me" while hiding the megger behind my back.
