Rhino 6000

I needed a new label maker for marking my LV cables, patch panels, and bundles so I took the plunge and got the Rhino 6000. I have to say I have used a lot of label makers but this thing is by far the best I've found. What normally takes me 10 minutes now takes less than 3. Plus PC connectivity is amazingly handy. Definitely recommend it if you are in need of one.

i bought that same kit a couple months ago.. the thing is great.
What's the cost for consumables like labels and ink?
I got and returned it, the print quality was horrible.
We use the 6000 model too.

Depends on where you buy them but I got cartridges at $12.99/each at ADI. They had a special of buying 25 rolls and get the printer kit free.

That's a crazy good deal. So you bought 25 rolls for $325 and got a ~$400 labeler kit for free!?!?

I'd buy that!

Yup. It coSt me a bit more because I got 2 rolls of heat shrink which costs about three times as much per roll but still just stuff I would have been buying normally.
I still use a crappy little Brother P-touch labeller.. it takes forever to label stuff. That sucks, wasted time really cuts into my electrician talk time.

Try doing cat5 patch panels. When you have to worry about number spacing and such, it makes it a lot easier to have a labeler that has a template for it. And entering the numbers on my laptop makes it 10x faster.

I have had issues with the labels coming loose over time.
I bought a Rhino 6000 when my P-Touch started getting cutting errors left and right. Font/print quality is definitely sub-par when compared to the P-Touch, but the panel labeling features are great.

Instead of limiting port width measurement to increments of 0.05”, I wish it would let you give am overall measurement and tell it how many ports there are. The way out is now, labels still get noticeably misaligned after about 8 ports.

use that label making at work it does everything you can ask for. best feature its pre-set for patch panels either use 3/8th or 1/2 tape comes out perfect
Many thanks to everyone for the valuable feedback. FYI: the standard warranty on the Rhino printers is 1 year but it can be extended to 2 years by means of simple registration of the device. If anything goes wrong during the warranty period, we exchange the printer, no quibble.
