Finally got my test date. Sitting for my Rhode Island Journeyman test 2/25. Have my MA journeyman and masters, looking for advice on what to study. What do they focus on?
:blink:Since you're from out of state, you will likely fail.
Just telling it like it is. You know how things operate around here.:blink:
Way to build the mans confidence..![]()

:no:Study as hard as you can and you'll be just fine.
:yes::yes::no:
Let me know when you guys don't pass it. I'll gladly do the work instead. :whistling2:Three of us from our Cape shop are headed down the same day to take the test. The owner, and the Cape boss both have their licenses down there already. A lot of our high end builders and architects are already under contract for some monster houses... We won the bid before our journeymen have licenses... No pressure right?? The powers that be feel this is our next big market, combining the South Coast with Rhode Island and Martha's Vineyard. From what I've been told, there are more Ohm's law questions and general theory than code questions. Probably need to find my books from year 1, think they're in the basement somewhere...?
You just skip those questions and hope you get enough of the easy ones correct to make up for it.One of the questions I got on that exam was "whats the demand factor for xx dryers?" Closed book. Good luck
I took the test yesterday morning, found out at noon today... I passed with a 76%! It wasn't that big of a deal for me. Two other guys from my company went with me, one got the exact 70% to pass! the other, 64%. I passed the MA journeyman and masters first shot too. I guess I just test well. Sent in the paperwork for NH reciprocal (gotta love just cutting a check for the license) once I have that, I can send in to Maine to reciprocate my NH license. Funny how that works.EBFD6 said:I'm far from a code genius. I didn't think the test was all that difficult. Passed on the first shot. I've always been a good test taker though. I've taken and passed on the first try - MA journeyman, MA master, RI journeyman, CT journeyman. I didn't think any of them were a big deal. Your mileage may vary.
:whistling2::whistling2:Awsome, congrats! Enjoy your time in that craphole state. :laughing: Most of it anyway.
