I need to install a rheem tankless hot water heater on the back of the house. The current house service is maxed.
Ideas?
Ideas?
because the house is on electric baseboard heat & electric oven....What is the size of the existing service and what makes you think it is maxed?
It depends, some are a lot bigger than 50 amps. I wired one that pulled 111 amps, 27kW I think.lewisthepilgrim said:because the house is on electric baseboard heat & electric oven....
the tankless hot water heaters are what, 50+ amps ?
You must not like money. If this was my customer, I would do a load calc and then upgrade everything that needed to be upgraded and then bring that big check to the bank. They are designed for the European market where the voltage is twice ours, thereby utilizing 1/2 the amps to operate them. Great idea for them, lousy solution for us. But..... We are the world king of natural gas and propane so that is your answer. Tell em to take that P.O.S. back to Lowes and to tell the stupid man in the plumbing isle he is full of chit. And come back with a gas one.
We cant even install them hereI wire buildings. I don't puck around with small change hot water heaters.
I thought all you did was surf. and what is a hot water heater?I wire buildings. I don't puck around with small change hot water heaters.
