Customer told me today that he is bringing in a carpenter to add 2" by 2" strips in the basement to attach drywall over the existing masonry walls.
I am going to have to install a few outlets (no GFCIs) with Romex.
Have you ever gotten into this before? What did you use to fit in that small of a space?

Shallow (1 1/2") 4" square box with a stud bracket and a mud ring will work.

you could always try a handybox, but a 4 sq with mudring would be your best bet

I've got the exact same situation going on at work right now. All we have are 2 1/8" deep boxes. And we got to set a 3" deep cabinet into this shallow stud wall. We are just gonna chip out a space for the various boxes and cabinets and any conduit in the block and make it happen
