So I have these two thermoelectric coolers, they are small like 2in square, one side gets hot one side gets cold. they are 12v and 90w. now one works fine, but when I splice two together they both brick, they both stop working.

obviously the current is doubled to them that's why they brick, but why? how do I fix this. how do I splice into power without a separate power supply, how do I utilize the same 12v source? do I need to add more ground?

here's a simple drawing diagram. can someone help? I'm sure it's a simple electronic theory I'm not sure about here.

do I need to add a resistor or something simple? why does the current double to each cooler? why doesn't it split where the wire is split?

It sounds like you need a bigger/additional power supply.

I’ve never heard of the term brick, What does that mean?

I think your brick may need a resistor.

They are called peltier coolers they require 12v.

If you hook a 90w peltier to a 90w power supply you get 12v at 90w and the cooler works

if you hook 2 x 90w peltier's to a 90w power supply then the power supply will be overloaded. It will either shut down or drop its voltage. As the peltier requires 12v that means they will not work.

Google how a peltier works then buy a larger power supply.

P.s a peltier with out a heatsink and fan will quickly burn out.

This is not the correct forum for this type of question and im guessing you are not a electrician or you would have used ohms law and figured out you need a 15 amps power supply

Brick..... hitting a brick wall...... came to a complete stop....turned it into a useless brick.

Normally used to explain something has stopped working with out being damaged.

Bricked the computer and had to do a reset.

When you lose your phone to theft or memory -- you call your provider -- who will remotely "brick" your phone -- stopping all further charges against your account.

Once this became universal within the industry, phone thefts collapsed.

Bricking got rolling when the per minute rates were sky high compared to those now known.

What are you using to power this cooler module ?
Are you using a power supply or a battery ?
The problem is that your power supply is NOT adequate for the job
Your power supply has enough power for one module only
If you want two modules you need another power supply.
You cannot fix this with just resistors you need MORE power.
