Bought one of these for my crew. Had black, white, and green #12ga in 1 pack, 600' ea. They said it worked great. Easy set up, pulled smooth, an no azzholes. Plus I only had to pay $284?

We have a few sample packs that have been sitting in the shop for about a week now. None of the guys have taken the bait and tried them. I'm looking at them thinking if I throw it in the back of the truck it's going to get beat up and break apart. That'd make a lot of scrap...:censored:

that price is a couple cents higher/ft than small spools, but looks like it might have it's place ?

So they put 3 different parallel conductors inside of 1 coilpack? I didn't realize they do that.

That's 1,800' of #12 for $284 (16 cents/ft). I pay about $60 for 500' reels (12 cents/ft).

I pay .012 for solid, 14 for stranded. I'm guessing the coilpak is stranded ?

Not having to pack 3 spools and a wire caddy. Not to mention fighting the wire jumping off the full spools and dealing with the azzholes at the end of the spools are worth it. Plus they're stackable, so if you had 3 full circuits to pull it saves even more time. For us, especially working at industrial sites, we may have to pack everything to some nasty crappy spot. If we can make less trips carrying material, we get the work done faster

I had no idea that they could parallel conductors inside of 1 coilpack. I like the idea a lot better now and think it's worth a few cents more per foot.

At one supply house by me they have this big rack that holds many coilpacks. It's pretty cool.

We have a demo at the shop of the barrel. I have some controls to install soon. 100 or so #14's in a 2", couple hundred feet long. I plan on using the barrel. Pre cut and labeled on each end. This will certainly be worth the extra money. I also picked up a 1/4" slick-rope to use. It feels really light

Look into quick pull. It may be cheaper. It's pre numbered every foot. You can get as many conductor at whatever length you want. I used some earlier this year on a fast track job with thousands of feet of 14 blue. My foreman said it saved a ton of time. Wasn't much more than buying separate spools.

We ran this "banana" cable from belden for a big security job we were cabling, white blue and orange iirc. You peeled them off each other like banana skins to terminate.

I used them on my last job. They were pretty handy. They were ordered with Blk/Red/Blu/wblk/wred/wblu/grn. I think we are going to see spools of #12-#10 phased out in favor of the coil pack due to OSHA and the ergonomic problems that handling spools present to the worker. As far as my personal experience with the coil pack, It was all positive. They made staging of multiple conductor pulls in a small space a lot easier than using a spool rack.
