Everyone has seen the police auctions in the papers but now they have their own ebay like auction site. Bid to get that Hole Hawg back or just someone else's.

I know what you mean.

Years ago, I had a bunch of tools stolen from my truck. I filed a police report.

Three months later, an officer knocks on my door and asks me to identifiy my tools. I go through the stuff he has with him and point out what was mine (most even had my initials on it!). Turns out, they caught the guy who broke into my truck and 46 others that night with a bunch of stolen goods in his own car.

Here's the three kickers:
1. They never charged the guy with anything. Ever.
2. Since the property was recovered, I had to reimburse my insurance company for the claim I had made.
3. I never got my stuff back. Ever. It ended up in an auction.

Is this a great country or what? :censored:

480,
My first impulse is to say 'your kidding', but I know you are not!

Had three semi-trailers on a government site, mostly containing tools. Arrived before sunrise to see all three doors open, lights burning. Lost a Miller 250 welder and argon tank, a lot of lead, my pet plasma torch and his compressor. The companion compressed air hoses were not taken, just had the ends cut off. Go figgure. Miscellaneous tools missing.

My hand is still crippled from the paperwork snowstorm.
Think I got any compensation? 'Bout the same as you received.

Never claimed the losses, learned better before.

I was going to say that we are in the wrong business, but at least you and I can rest at night.

Best Wishes Everyone
