Just curious here. I'm familiar with lighting retro-fits and hvac retro-fits. What other work are you guys real busy with that involves changing out and updating old systems? Looking mostly for work that small shops are tackling in the commercial industry.

I don't retro, I replace! Unless it's a built-in fixture or something odd, I can't see the point in spending the time retrofitting old fixtures if the new ones will fit. Some of the retro kits leave a lot to be desired at to ease of installation.

Find your local Trane salesperson.

Not a mechanical contractor but the actual Trane folks.
Tell them you are interested in doing their electrical work.

We do about $25k/yr with Trane changing out starters and drives, disconnect and reconnect on new units in existing buildings, and connecting new equipment.
It isn't really a lot but it is high profit and they pay in a timely manner.
We also do controls.

I worked closely with a crew of guys from trane when we had a problem with some rtus. The ongoing joke was "nothing stops a trane...and apparently nothing gets em started"
