Hey whats up guys. I recently moved a relocated a thermostat, and I want to verify the wire I used is sufficient. The existing wire was an 18 gauge wire about ten feet in legnth from the Air Handler. I replaced this wire with a cat5 cable (about 20 feet in legnth). After completing the installation I verified everything was working properly; however, the cat5 cable is a 24 gauge conductor and I wanted to make sure this size is sufficient for a thermostat. Does anyone see any potential problems from this installation? Thanks!!
