Quick question about track...
Have 2 switch legs hanging out of the sheet rock. The are no boxes installed. Customer wants to put up 8 foot tracks.
What kind of plate or cover do you use for the live end?
Supply house recommended a flat plate that would show the mounting screws, will look terrible unless some sort of white paint to cover the screw heads is used..
Thanks

So there is no requirement for a box where the romex is protruding through the sheet rock?
No, as McClary stated there is a KO for a connector in the back of the track end. I guess someone could say that there is not enough conductor in the connector to meet code but we have never been called on it. I always push the slack up into the ceiling in case more wire is needed.

Depending on the brand of track you use you could mount a pop in round box and use the blank plates that are made for the track live ends. Halo's is a square plate with a rectangle cut out for the back of the live end connector.
