AC is the same thing as bx, 2 or 3 insulated conductors and sheathing and bonding strip for egc. mc has insulated copper egc. lite is aluminum sheath
I have never heard of bx lite. The old bx had no metal bonding conductor and the newer stuff has the strip. I have not used bx in over 25years so there may be some new stuff that I don,t know about

AC=armor clad
MC=metal clad
LITE=AL sheath
AC=armor clad (bonding strip and no insulated EGC)
MC=metal clad (no bonding strip, has insulated EGC)
LITE=AL sheath
BX=old school term for armoured cable from the 30's to 50's with no bond wire and no EGC (not produced any more and not mentioned in the NEC)
There, that's better. :thumbsup:
