Doing a 200 amp service with the t box in the basement , the 4 gang meter socket will be outside, panels inside . The inspector said he wants a disconnect between tbox and meter . So my question is from the load side of the disconnect do i run seu or ser to meter socket ? And if I do need ser do they have a isolated neutral kit for the meter?

Is the proposed disconnect before or after the meter? I've never heard of a disco before the meter/s.

Ok say that you do a disconnect outside for whatever required reason, from the meter to the disconnect with SEU (probably need conduit with THHN) then from the disconnect to the interior panels with SER. Be sure to separate grounds and neutrals.

The services comes through the foundation to a tbox , right now the meters are inside but they must be put outside . When I mentioned the over head service I was trying to plea my case to the inspector about the disconnect.

This whole thing seems wacky...

First off, millions of homes have unfused conductors entering the house. It's done every day.

Secondly, why don't you have the POCO reroute the lateral directly into the 4G meter socket?

I've never seen a meter socket with isolated neutral lug .
You don't need it. A meter socket doesn't utilize or distribute electricity. It only meters it. Being that you wouldn't need to isolate the neutral. I am still dumbfounded that they are making you install a disconnect before the meter. I don't think there's a code against it but it sounds stupid.
