I think union and non union electricians will appreciate this video.

Sorry, but i disagree

With all due respect to those who passed on that day, prostituting their deaths in this manner is petulant jingoism.

In fact, building a 'freedom tower' in of itself is an orwellian slap in the face, given we are less free in so many ways since that day

OK chicken dude.............I'll agree that naming it "freedom" tower is an oxymoron at best and certainly reminscent of Orwell's 1984,

BUT............how do you figure that a memorial, in any way, shape or form, can be considered prostituting their deaths at best and.... petulant jingoism???

You feel that a memoriam to people who were lost is to be considered a childish form of extreme chauvinism or nationalism marked especially by a belligerent foreign policy??????? Seriously???

Sometimes I think you use some of these phrases just to sound smart

I'm not knocking anyones mourning and or memorialising Rollie

In fact, i thought the engraving was a rather thoughtful idea

But wrapping it all up in the flag in some blaze of glory rhetoric degrades their loss, which is where i part company

They were unaware sitting ducks to a terrorist act in a war they didn't even know they were in , so would they really wish the connection to foreign policy, world affairs , and all the status quo behind it all their legacy?

The WOT was a F*** story before it started, and the status quo has done everything possible to paint their policy red white & blue here. To have your reps follow suit amazes me, because the unions of the past wouldn't have been sucking up to them , much less using their deceased members to do so

Since you've put it like that Steve ole boy.......I can honestly say that I see your point here. I think it was more your choice of words that kind of threw me for a bit of a loop on that one. Their lives and the loss of those same had absolutely nothing to do with a patriotic act anymore than did the victims of the Boston Marathon attack. They were, unfortunately in the wrong spot at the wrong time.

The memorial was an excellent idea.....but should it be a memoriam to the red white and blue......
