Looks like someone was standing on the plywood fan support... if it would hold a person I'm sure it's good for the fan.:laughing::jester:Found this today in a church.

No it didn't... the dude stood on it to make sure it was solid!!:laughing:im guessing that drywall footprint got on wood before it got put in the ceiling:laughing:

Has it ever passed an inspection? These weren't independently supported. There's 8 of them and we're charging them to re support them with unistrut lagged to the joists and 3/8" all thread to an octagon box and a caddy bar to the grid.220/221 said:I use the plywood method but I use 1/4 20 nuts/bolts/washers.
