Hey everyone,
It seems to becoming more popular with one of my builders to want their bathroom vanity lights mounted right on the mirrors. This is a huge pita. Just wondering if anyone has found an easy way of doing this? Thus far I just leave a wire stubbed out of the wall at my best guess location. After the cabinets and mirror frame are installed I have to mount a box at the needed location. The worst of it is the actual install of the fixture. It's very difficult to know how much exactly to extend the box in order to be flush with the mirror face. The weight of the fixture is another problem. We are always worried the glass will cracks.

Any ideas?

I always have a box mounted and if the fixture is needs extra holes then it is the mirror installers job to drill these holes. I would advise using rubber grommets so as to not crack the mirror. It cost us a few hundred because my guys tightened it to tight. Cracked a day later
