Have a customer with voltages drop problem(By they way Hello everybody , im new to the site(John ), Get right to it,they have a 800amp service 208 volt3 phase.the feeder from the Ct cabinet is about 360' long,with 4 4/0 alu per phase/ use , their amp draw is about 212 per phase from power company's single leg. I have about three different ideas about correcting this,Iwould like to get some input from you guys ,thanks

Voltage drop problem

What they did is buried the first 250 and the last 110 is in conduit 6" under a road
First idea is to run 4 4" pvc to pull box 250 ,and splice into 4/0 s

What they have is a ct with trough on top and 4 4" stubed in the ground im thinking 2 foot deep , havent dug up yet , then after 250 foot they have a 6" pvc acrossed the road about 110 ' long to 800 amp mdp.Buy the way thank for the intro.

Buck boost transformer.

Transformer 1.73 to 1 with taps set high. (208 delta to 208/120 wye)

More conductors .

are you sure that 212 A is the full load ? (service way oversized or is there allowance for future ?)

anyway, if my math is right, using cmils = 1.732 k I D/Vd =1.732x21.4x212x360/ (3% of 208=6.24) = 464000. for four sets of AL that's only 116000 which is 2/0.

So I guess my question is, is there really a voltage drop problem with this portion of the system, or maybe somewhere else ?
