I live in a coop apt where we all have our own electricity meters. I am looking to put in an electrical drier due to venting restraints but my electrician is worried about the voltage or wattages coming into the coop to run a 220 drier. My electrician will install a 220 line going to the circuit box but he is worried about tripping the breaker if we have other appliances or other products that pull a lot of electricity. I also just found out we have 40amps going into the apt.
I am looking for input from anyone that has had experience in this situation.

I would guess that you probably don't but there is not enough info. Someone must do a calculation. Sorry but we cannot help here

Why do you not trust your electrician's assessment of the situation?

I haven't received the latest update from my electrician just yet. I just got the info that I have 40 amps going into the apt. I was looking for some more input since he hasn't got back to me yet. I trust my electrician and his assessment but I was recommended by him from my contractor who says that he is super conservative and cautious about every situation.

So I guess my new question is will 40 amps support a 220 drier?
