ok well i came on this forum because i figured if i could get some straight forward answers this would be the place. My husband has been an elect. for a little over 20 years. And still today he allows some contractors have way to big of a break. I understand they only use him and will even wait if hes busy but still friendship shouldn't start till after work. Now on to my question: The house his doing started out only being 60 recessed cans and minor wiring (maybe 3 circuits) now all the walls have been opened up (everyday somethings added) and its turned into 5-quad outlets, 26-single outlets, 7-single outlets wired with 12/2, 9-gfci, 27-single pole switches, 18-3way switches, 30-6in recessed cans, 47-4in recessed cans, 9-fixtures, 4-vent fans, dryer, oven, and everything else is still there. Labor only (just him & a 1st year apprentice) what would you charge? At 1st my husband was going to charge almost 2,000 and now that its turned into a complete rewire the contractor thinks just a couple more hundred would be fine....any thoughts? Then I'll leave yall fine guys alone. Oh and we live in Arkansas

This is not a joke I'm being dead serious. I'm in Arkansas and most around here charge 60 a can which you all know your math is 3600. The contractor is just starting out and yea my husband is trying to give him a big break. And i posted the thread because I'm going to have the contractor get on here and read what yall have to say. Theres no doubt my husbands work looks perfect it always does. But when the guy gets on here and reads this I want him to see what a joke hes being because my husband is about to just throw in the towel, take the even bigger lose by wasted time on what hes already done and go to the next job where he dont have to deal with this. So honestly ball park figure what would you charge? oh and its 2400 sq ft

i thought maybe i was being a hard ass because i thought for just the cans (no other wiring and labor only) no less than 5000.00 because its fine the guy wants to get rich but i be damned if my husband is the one that gets him there on this 1 job. If I'm wrong then I'm wrong. I'm telling my husband move on because he's got guys waiting on him that don't pull this crap
