Yea, and a plenum rated 1900 box. It's in a plenum ceiling in Chicago. Is that FMT?
I didn't finish making up the box, the thread was more of a rant on the layout that led to 7 entries into the box.Wires aren't spliced..
No wire labels...
No marrette on ground..
No cover on box..
Couldn't tell, but is there a tail for the grounds to the box?
Someone lost the 8/32 screws for the cover?
You still need to bond the box.We don't have to pigtail the box since the run is all emt
Better read 250.148(C).We don't have to pigtail the box since the run is all emt.
Can't you only support a box with a min. of 2 runs of RMC, not EMT?Looks like emt is supported with bat clips. I prefer a trapeze
must be threaded entry yes 314.23(e), i can't tell from the picture if this box is adequately supported or not but it doesn't look like itbml215 said:Can't you only support a box with a min. of 2 runs of RMC, not EMT?
The way it was explained to me is, the equipment grounding conductors are connected to the metal boxes at the fixtures.Better read 250.148(C).
What do the spec's call that green wire? I would call it an EGC and treat is as such... needed or not.The way it was explained to me is, the equipment grounding conductors are connected to the metal boxes at the fixtures.
The grounds installed in the FMT and EMT are not required by Chicago code and are just a job spec. Therefore the ground wires in that pic are not equipment grounds.
I am by no means a code guru and this explanation was sufficient for me.
