Went to machine shop. Our office gave us a 400 amp disconnect to slap in bus...only it looks like its meant to be installed on a vertical bus....the on off switch are on the bottom going left to right rather than on its right side up/down. code violation? Every other disconnect in building has switch up down...

In figured there were ones meant to attach horizontal and then a vertical model so switch location stays on right side

Lots of bus duct switches go either way. Do you know the brand and model of bus duct? My guess is it's fine

These are generic for either orientation. The CODE says nothing about the handle being "easily accessible" . Several of the older brands/models had the handle on the bottom.
