What happens when you want to pull a second set into the pipe and you don't need another EGC? Pull the green out of the pipe afterwards? It seems like having the green on a second reel might work better for some situations.

Home Depot stocks the disk, a smaller knock off of the barrel. I'm still old school racks and solid wire.

After thinking about it, this barrel or looking at the Coilpak, you are really limited in the angles of the pulls. So for everyday work, I don't see them being that advantageous, but in specific situations, they would be a time-saver.

Our local supply house is stocking wire (#12) on these green spools. They are longer/wider than your normal black spools. No longer can I get 8 rolls on my little rack. It's really irritating.

I guess that's the downside to this wiring in a barrel or coilpack, you have to pull exactly what is in it. You can't leave off the EGC for the second pull or only pull an even number of circuits (non-divisible by 3), etc.

Highrise apartment building wiring - would be pretty good, except nowadays almost all the apartment interiors around here have transitioned from emt to mc cable....

We did a retail store with this method. It worked out ok. The only real down side is as pointed out if you want to pull an extra circuit. You can order custom barrels with whatever combo suits your job.

So does the wire get pulled in all twisted up, like if you were spooling from the center of the reel?
