I started in the trade in 1982 and completed the IBEW apprenticeship in 1987.Since 1994 I have worked as a manufacturing maintenance electrician not needing a certification.Upon trying to find work outside of maintenence I find I need a license to work for a C-10 contractor even though I got my own C-10 license in 1999.I recently sent off for a 30 year work history report from SSA costing me 67.00 dollars.Has anyone else sent off for this report and how long did it take to get?

I did it same as you in 2012. I called and bothered them. Took about 30 days. I also hold a C10 since 89

Not in California. The c10 is way easier than the certification. Which is also easy.
Well I hope so.I'm in the process of studying some exam prep guides and practice tests.I want to nail this thing and get it over with.I had a great job in the bag and then this certification thing came up and I watched the job go away.I told him I was certified thinking a C-10 was all I needed but not the case I found out.
