While we’re on the subject, I do agree that fishtape dispensers are a PITA. Fishtapes have been around for a century or more and the best dispenser is still to take it out of the crummy factory dispenser and coil it through a short piece of pipe with a slight bend in it.
I have a couple with a 18" piece of 1.25 liquid seal, and it works great...

Can't see anyone ever tossing them away. If they get that bad (usually because somebody does not know how to use) cut them up into pieces... great for unlocking the old car doors too!

Cheers

I can honestly say I have never had that problem. Maybe because we have always used Ideal fish tapes, or maybe it's just how I was taught to sling one.
I tend to agree, but I have had a couple of the handles and cases break from guys doing stupid things such as running them over with a lift, dropping off a roof, etc.

I have always bought Ideal too. I got a Gardner-Bender one for a present once, that is one of the ones the handle broke off. I bought a greenlee one a few years ago because I needed a 200 footer and there was not an Ideal at the supplier at the time, it has been good so far. I just find that the Greenlee seems to get more "rusty" then the Ideal.
