I am working on a design in which I need an exhaust fan (planned to exhaust 4 different restrooms) to automatically come on when the line voltage occupancy sensor in any restroom detects motion but such that the lights in the associated restroom stay off. If the exhaust fan was smaller, I could use most any manufactured lighting control switch but this one pulls nearly 20 A.
I was thinking that I could have a motor starter installed that could take the input from 4 different relays (line voltage?) connected to the occupancy sensor and turn the fan on accordingly.
Any advice or tips on how to do so?
Note: if there is a better way to do this, I am open to suggestions.
