If so, can you enlighten me as to what the exam breakdown looks like and any tips and advice you might have? anything in particular that you found difficult?

thanks

I crushed it a month ago,it was tough but fair. I highly suggest purchasing FSR B exam package from http://www.bcelectricalcode.com/fsr-tests.html
It prepares you quite well...$75, worth it to me.

I took mine about 2 years ago,

I recall that I had to do an apartment service calc. I'd suggest reviewing all code sections (except section 36), as there were some T/F questions that aren't so obvious and made me flip through the code book. Review electrical safety regulation, safety standards act and BC amendments, several questions on each of these.

I wrote my FSR B about 2 years ago. It had two large calculations and I believe one of them was an apartment calculation and the other was either automobile receptacles or a RV park. Be sure to review the electrical directives, update your code book with the most recent errata, review the information bulletins, safety act electrical regulation and the general regulation, all which you can take in the exam with you. Available at BC Safety Authority. There was a bunch of T/F too, mostly from the regulations.

I took a code course at BCIT and thought they did a great job preparing me for the exam, course was put on by Ted Simmons*s

Good Luck

to be more specific, I recall a welder calculation, an appartment building, a marina, a rv park, lots of regulations safety standards act true or false stuff, voltage drop calculation, thats all I can remember from 3 years ago.

That being said, I thought it was almost too easy, I had such a difficult time passing the journeyman exam that I thought the FSR was almost a joke. I remember it only took me 1 hour to write it, and I think they give you 2 hours.
