I have a residential customer who wants to switch all of his gas appliances to electric. This is going to require a service upgrade.
I am working on the load calculation and was wondering how the folks on this forum felt about standard calculation vs optional calculation?
He has a detached garage. For the detached garage should I calculate the tools, hot water heater, minisplit, refrigerator, lights and receptacles at 100%?
If the total service calculation is greater than 400amps does Duke Energy in the Greensboro, NC area offer services larger than 400amp?
If the calculation is greater than 320amps but less than 400amps does Duke offer services larger than 320amp? In other words, is their 400amp service truly 400amp?
I talked to the folks at the supply house and they gave me the 1000 mile stare when I asked for a true 400amp meterbase.
Thank you for the great help..
