What you are talking about is what we generally refer to as “far-side support”.

To achieve this we would generally use the Caddy H23 bracket to hold the box. It also allows you to attach the box to either side of the stud.
I wonder if those are CUL rated? I've never seen them before. Typically I use KSS boxes.

Those caddy supports still don't help with the vapour barrier issue though.

I have only ever used plastic vapour barrier. Cut in 2 x 2 sections and wrap the box in it.

I've done that on occasion when I didn't have the right poly hat, but overall poly hats are way easier.

I'm not a fan of the plastic boxes on the exterior walls that we have here.

They're more of a pain to work with, and are not as adaptable. No spacing them out or in to accommodate finished wall thickness.
