I got turned down by the Inspector for a plumber doing that at a church.

 

I ran all EMT and MC , mixed use building w/ the occasional rodent. Tenants friend came in after an ran some romex above the basement drop ceiling .

 

Is there a deratating for troughs?

 

No, not that I know of. BBQ would know that for sure.

 

So did you call the inspector and is the plummer going to change it.

 

It passed and the plumber, well.Let's just say everyone is comfortable with it.

Unless the pipe was full of water when you cut it.

 

You know wire ways, trough and pull boxes are good ways to introduce flexibility to a multi panel situation. They don't cost that much more.

 

I left that job with what some would dislike or even call a violation but at the time we were in the 05 cycle. I ran one # 8 neutral in each conduit for 6 branch circuits. Should of placed a "Do Not Disturb" tag on the neutral splices. Hate to what would happen if someone does.
