Greetings,
I'm working on job in MD. I got a design kicked back because I had TC-ER cable running from an outside AC PV combiner into an attic, through the attic, down a piece of EMT (set aside for PV when the house was built), and into a disconnect in the homeowner's mechanical room.
The reviewer told me 690.31(D) allows TC-ER to be used outside, but not inside and that 336.10 Uses Permitted doesn't include one-family dwellings (they're not on the 2017 yet). My reply was that 690.31 allows me to use any wiring method permitted anywhere in the Code and that 336.12 Uses Not Permitted doesn't list one-family dwellings either.
Is an application allowable if it does not fall in either the Uses Permitted or the Uses Not Permitted categories?
Regards,
Barklie
