Background: I have a light switch controlling a light in a hallway and I want to pull off and add a light switch and light fixture in an adjacent room (separate control from the hallway light but same power source)
I opened the existing switch box and it is currently wired with one black wire connected to the switch, one red wire connected to the switch, and one green wire to the switches ground connection point. (The black was connected to the top screw and the red to the bottom scew).
Could you breakdown how to pull off what I need to control my second light? Wiring diagram and explanation if possible.
