I have two customers that bought these Smart home panels with an additional
and want them added to their existing service panel. The existing service panels are in the garage and recessed into the stud bays.

The product’s instructions specify 1-1/4” conduit between main panel to the SHP and AFCI/gfci box.

I’m thinking of moving the main electrical panel to the surface of the wall so I can pipe between the separate panels in straight shots and not have to dive into the main panel with 1-1/4” emt.

Anyone see a better option.?

Never heard of these so I went looking. These panels are designed to charge the companies battery packs.
The panels state "This product does not provide an AFCI (Arc Fault Circuit Interrupter) function. All upstream breakers should be non-GFCI/AFCI. GFCI and AFCI protection should be downstream of the SHP using GFCI/AFCI breakers or outlets. " The modules are limited to 15, 20 and 30 amp. I did not find any information on if the panel will switch 240v loads. I sort of don't think so because the specs say 10 circuits. This is nothing more than a 10 circuit battery back up panel. Made in China and I did not see a UL or CSA listing when I briefly looked at the product.

I typically do not deal with non listed equipment. My AHJ is a stickler and I like to avoid the discussions on products that do not meet North America Safety standards.

I called tech support and they said that they are UL listed. I'll look for the sticker when I see the equipment
